Another fun week in Boise

Since Ty is gone until 10 every night studying chemistry I decided to go spend another week with my family in Boise. I was really bad about taking pictures but these are some of my most favorite things I did while I was there...

-Roaring Springs

-Riding bikes downtown on the greenbelt (we rode all the way from my house!)

-Playing in the fountains downtown and eating at Blue Sky Bagels

-Floating the river (freezing as usual but very fun)

-Bowling for FHE ( I scored a 108 which is really good for me!)

-Seeing Jules!! (one of my best friends)

-Visiting Ben and Moni and seeing their new baby Sofie (so tiny and adorable!)

-Playing soccer with my WHOLE family at the park (it's not very often we are all together)

-Going to the midnight movie of Batman (such a good movie!!)

-Seeing Courntey & Quinton my lucky friends who just moved to Boise! (I got to see Courtney's pregnant belly that is now starting to show!)

-Hanging out with my fam everyday, they are the greatest!

Zach is officially an Eagle Scout!

My little brother Zach finally became an Eagle Scout! He finished his Eagle project almost 2 years ago but he finally made it official with his board of review on Saturday. He was pretty excited to say the least. My Dad decided he needed to have a photo shoot after he was done so here are some of the pictures...

Good Job Zach, we're so proud of you!!

Weekend in Cedar

To celebrate Ty's cousin Tay's birthday we all went down to Cedar for a weekend of camping, rock climbing and hiking. (Tay is quite the professional rock climber!) Since it was pouring rain on Friday night our camping trip turned into a giant sleepover in Tay's living room!

The next morning since we didn't get to camp we were ready for a day in the great outdoors! We started off rock climbing and everybody climbed! (Even Autumn who was hiding up in the trees for a while) We had quite the climbing crew! After a warm-up climb Tay took us to this!! It is called the Adventure Climb and after I saw it I just knew I had to do it even though I was scared out of my head! It's probably the scariest thing I've ever done but it was so much fun!
After some climbing we decided to drive further up into the mountains to do some hiking. We did it in the pouring rain and the hugest thunderstorm ever, I swear the mountains were shaking! I felt like we were in a horror movie or something!
Me and Autumn
We hiked to Cascade Falls, a beautiful waterfall. Up behind the waterfall is a cave we went exploring in!

This is me and Autumn climbing into the cave. This was probably the hardest part because the water was rushing so fast and the ground was slippery!

You can see the opening to the waterfall behind us!

The water in the cave was freezing and at one point went all the way to our waists!

It was pitch black inside the cave which was kind of scary but it also let me and Ty get some kissing in!

We had such a fun weekend, I never realized how many fun things there are to do so close to Cedar City!

Lochlan's Surprise Party

Yesterday was Ty's cousin Lochlan's birthday so the family all got together for a Hawaiian surprise party!

I actually got to see Ty for more than an hour yesterday! He left his studying a little early so he could come to the party. (I am a chemistry widow these days)The night ended off with a huge rock band party! (This picture was taken at a previous rock band party, but you get the idea.) We all had a lot of fun! Happy Birthday Loch!

A Fun Saturday

Me and Ty had a fun Saturday. It's the first Saturday we've been in town for a while so it was nice to just be home! We went up to Midway to help my freshman roommate Danielle move. Her and Steve have a very cute apartment! On our way back down Provo canyon we met Ty's family at Vivian Park and went fishing. Luckily we had our longboards in our trunk so we decided to longboard the rest of the way down the canyon. It was a gorgeous day and not too hot! That evening we decided to go play tennis! Ty's mom and grandpa came up a little later and played doubles with us. Ty's grandpa is a pro so I got to be on his team (since I'm not much of a pro) Even with my lack of experience we were able to beat Ty and his mom, I was very proud!

4th of July!

Our 4th of July started out on the streets of Provo saving spots for the parade! Me and Ty have both been doing this since we were kids so it is a fun tradition. It is so funny to see all the people out on the street hanging out all night long. A few years ago when me and Ty shared one sleeping bag and slept on the cement we decided the actually sleeping part isn't the funnest anymore. We lasted until about 3am this year.
Autumn must of wore Ty out because he fell asleep right after this!

Autumn and Alyssa made it the whole night, way to go! I went home and got a few hours in my bed before I came back for the parade.

After the parade we went to the park for my Aunt Jen's annual 4th of July party. It was fun to see family and eat lots of yummy food!

After that we went to Ty's family party. All the girls got cute matching 4th of July shirts!

We ended our 4th of July by going to the Provo temple to watch the firworks on the grass. I love fireworks! We could even hear Miley singing a little bit from the stadium! We really are the luckiest ever to live in such an amazing country! Happy 4th of July!

Ty turned 26!

Ty is 26! He is so old! It was kind of sad because he had to get up early to go to class, take a chemistry test and then go straight to work. (Luckily he did very well on his chem test so he was very happy!) I woke up early with him and made him waffles before he went to school and let him open his presents!

When Ty got home from work we went to Red Robin for his birthday dinner.

When Ty's fam came over I was trying to be extra sneaky so I went into the house to light the candles on the cake. After like 20 minutes of trying to get all the candles lit and half of the candles almost completely melting into the cake, I walked outside all proud of myself. I took one step out the door and one little breeze blew all the candles out that I had worked so hard to light! I was so sad! So Ty is pretending to blow out candles in this picture.

Tra and Keo were so cute, they made him birthday signs and hung them up all over the walls.

Happy Birthday Missy!

I started off the summer super depressed because I wasn't in Idaho but I am turning out to have one of the funnest summers ever! I decided maybe it's because I don't have a job and I get to play all the time! Either way, I'm having a lot of fun being around Ty's family because they are always doing fun stuff. On Tuesday it was Ty's cousin Missy's birthday so we went out to pizza factory for lunch and went shopping. That night we got to go to the lake! Poor Ty couldn't come because he was studying chemistry. Though he was greatly missed we still had a lot of fun!
Alyssa, Missy, Andi and I all managed to fit on the tube!

Autumn was professial at holding the flag (even though her mom called her slightly retarded)

I think Tallon might be the slightly retarded one!

Country Concert

After flying all day long Monday Ty and I were super exhausted but we also had tickets to a concert that started like right when we walked in our door. Neither of us felt like going but we went anyways and we were so glad! We got to see Josh Gracin, Collin Ray and Joe Nichols. It was so much fun because Ty and I were able to squeeze up to the front and we were like 10 feet from the stage! I love being up at the front because you can freak out and dance and scream and everybody else is doing it too. At one point Josh Gracin ran through the crowd and Ty gave him a high five and I touched his arm!!! They all were awesome live and it was fun because we knew most of the songs and could sing along. Joe Nichols was particularly cute! The night ended with fireworks to celebrate UVSC becoming Utah Valley University. (I guess I can be a fan since my husband does go there and it is where he spends most of his life these days since he is taking Chemistry over the summer and studies like 10 hours a day!) Sadly, our camera's battery was dead after New York so I didn't get any pictures :(

New York

Ty and I had the chance to go to New York with my parents this past weekend and we were so excited because neither of us had ever been there. I'm glad I got to see New York City, it is quite the sight to see and we had quite the experience. I realized what a bubble I live in, the people in New York are very different from the people in Utah! (We were there on Gay Pride Day so we got a little extra exposure) I am not really a huge fan of Utah but when we came back on Monday I felt very happy to be here! I think I took for granted how beautiful the mountains are and even just the feeling of being safe and being around people that believe in the same things as I do. It is also nice to be able to go somewhere without having to travel on like 6 different freeways and getting lost a few times before getting to where you want to go. Driving there is crazy!
This picture was taken from our hotel parking lot. We were right across the river from Manhattan! The skyline of Manhattan was breathtaking!

Riding the ferry back to our hotel

Ok, so Ty and I decided people just don't eat back east because we couldn't seem to find restaurants or even a grocery store anywhere! Pretty much everything we ate came from a gas station. This picture was taken after a long day with no good food. We just happened to find a pizza at the hotel with no one around....oh man we stole some!

We took the Staten Island Ferry to get a closer look at the Statue of Liberty. I have to say I was a little dissapointed with the size of it. The movies always make the statue of liberty look huge but it is actually quite small! (I couldn't get any good pictures of it because it was night time and because it is so little!)

Ty and I at Times Square!

This picture was taken at Ground Zero. It was a really cool place to visit.

This was a very interesting little statue that I decided to pose on. (Apparently they are supposed to be eyeballs)

In front of the David Letterman Studio!

My mom and I waiting for the subway (Our hair looks extra special because of all the humidity!)
