Five Christmases

Tyler and I decided to start a tradition when we got married of taking a family picture in front of our Christmas tree every year. Today I realized we were about to celebrate our fifth Christmas as a family and I thought it would be fun to see if I could find all of our pictures...
2005- Our first Christmas together we had the cutest little tree. We decided we never wanted to get a fake tree because both of our families had always gotten real ones and we loved it growing up. This was my first Christmas away from my family so I was kind of dreading it but I remember thinking it was my best Christmas ever. It was so fun to learn and be a part of Tyler's family's traditions. After spending Christmas eve and Christmas morning with Tyler's family we got to fly up to Boise and have Christmas dinner with my family.
One of the memories that sticks out in my mind from this Christmas is that I wanted these boots sooo bad and after me and Ty opened up our presents from each other I started crying because he didn't get me the boots. He had led me to believe that he was getting them for me so I was just so dissapointed (and a little emotional that first year of marriage). I was so upset that I didn't want to go to Tyler's parents house. Finally Tyler had to just tell me that his brother had bought me the boots so I would calm down and go. Ty makes fun of me for crying about my boots to this day. I still have them and love them, Thanks Tallon :)
2006-We were so poor this year that we broke down and borrowed Ty's grandma's fake tree and we've used it ever since. Hopefully someday we can afford a real one again! This Christmas my family spent in Utah so we got to see both our families again.
2007-We spent this Christmas with Tyler's family and sadly I can't remember much else about it.
2008-This year we spent Christmas day at Disneyland with my family. Since I was pregnant I could hardly ride anything but we still had a lot of fun. The not fun part was the drive there and how we had to stop every 3 hours so I could walk around. My doctor told me I could get blood clots if I didn't and I thought I was getting them a few times which Tyler also makes fun of me for.

2009-Having Saylor in our family makes Christmas so much more exciting. We can't wait to celebrate her first Christmas! We are spending this Christmas with Tyler's family and driving up to Boise the day after.

Merry Christmas!!

9 months!

Saylor is 9 months old! I took her to her 9 month check up and she has gotten huge!

Here are her stats:

Weight: 19 lb-59.8%
Length: 28.5inches-82%
Head size: 16.7 inches-10%

Saylor is such a speedy crawler now and pulls herself up to stand on everything and sometimes will even take a few steps along furniture. Say wants to be moving constantly so when we have to get her dressed or change her diaper she screams like she is going to die. All this crawling and climbing on everything has meant a lot of falling and a lot of scrapes, bruises and scratches. Poor little babe:( She is also getting her first tooth. Saylor has learned how to shake her head no and when she hears music she will dance to the music by bobbing up and down-love it! I also love that when I am laughing at something Saylor will start to laugh acting like she knows whats funny, she's so cute!

We took Saylor to Texas Roadhouse and she was having the time of her life, she loved all the people, loud music, dancing and she also really enjoyed the rolls. She felt like such a big girl sitting at the table with mom and dad.
I can't believe Saylor has been out of my tummy as long as she was in! Becoming a mom has definitely been the most life changing event of my life. It's hard to imagine life without Saylor, she is everything to me and Ty. As she gets older she is just getting more and more fun!!

Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving this year, it's always great to be with family and just relax. My 91 year old grandma even made the trip up to Boise with us. Thanksgiving dinner is always amazing at my house because my mom is an incredibly good cook-everything is intensely good. I'd have to say my favorite thing this year was the mashed potatoes and gravy, I decided that potatoes are my favorite food. I also really loved the pumpkin cheesecake with butter sauce for dessert. Yummy!!
My family's tradition is to go around the table and say what we are thankful for and what our favorite food from Thanksgiving is. This year the thing I am most thankful for is to be a mom:) It is the greatest thing in the world!

Kirstie made these super cute turkeys to put by everyone's plates
Everyone enjoying the delicious meal...
Sweet potatoes
Huge turkey leg
Mashed potatoes with the most delicious gravy I've ever tasted
Carrots
Sister-love her!
Grandpa rocking Saylor to sleep-so cute!
It was so fun to see so many friends at Sarah's baby shower. I was amazed at all the people who home made their gifts! I was inspired to be more crafty!
Yay!! Sass is having a girl so I have someone to get excited about big flowers and bows and all those other fun little girly things with. Also someone to make them with! We made the cutest ever bows at Sarah's shower. I was so proud of Sarah and all her big bows, she'll have the cutest ever little girl soon! (I like to call her Betsy since they have no name for her yet...they don't like that very much so I tell them to hurry and pick a name or Betsy just might stick!) Here are the bows I made. Me and Sass even made matching bows for Saylor and Betsy to go with the matching dresses I got for them! I have plans to make many more-I've already been to the craft store to buy ribbon, flowers and little rhinestones, I can't wait!

Murder Mystery Dinner

Last Friday we had a murder mystery dinner at Matt and Sarah's house. We actually did the same exact mystery dinner like six years ago for Morp when we were seniors but we couldn't remember anything (except Steve claiming to be FBI when he really wasn't...)
When Sarah called to inform us of our characters I was surprised when Ty wanted to get really into it. He was Calvin, the nerdy guy, and he insisted we go buy him some suspenders and glasses to look the part.

It was a lot of fun trying to figure out the mystery...and look who ended up to be the murderer!!

Look what Ty got...

I never thought I'd let my husband get a motorcycle ...

Ty has had his corvette since before his mission and its been sitting on the side of his parents house for years now. When we first got married I tried really hard to get him to sell it since we needed the money and it was just sitting there wasting away. Ty went on and on about the sentimental value it held and how some day he would have the money to fix it up...it was a lost cause. When Ty started begging for a motorcyle I finally just said, ok well when you sell your corvette, you can get a motorcycle (and in my mind I thought, that's never gonna happen!) Then Ty's brother Stig went and got a motorcyle this summer and I don't think Ty's ever been more jealous. So jealous that he finally decided to sell the corvette...and I couldn't say a word about him getting the motorcyle after I had given him permission (kind of by accident)

So now Ty's got a bike. It's bad timing since it just got super cold but he did get a few good sunny weeks to ride it. He doesn't even care that it is freezing cold in the mornings and usually dark when he rides home, he'll ride that thing any chance he gets. Ty is like the happiest guy ever. The first weekend he had it we rode all the way up to Park City on it. We did some Christmas shopping at the outlets and had dinner, it was such a fun date!

Family Pictures

Stig took some family pictures for us awhile back and I never posted them. There were tons I loved of me and Ty but Saylor was usually making a strange face or not looking. So here are some of the ones where we all look semi-normal. I'm having a hard time deciding which one to blow up and put on my wall...

8 months

Saylor is 8 months old today. This has been a big month for Saylor with lots of firsts. She no longer feels like a little baby, she's growing up and getting so big. She learned to crawl this month but it started out as the worm and slowly evolved. Saylor is very happy about being able to go anywhere she wants. She also learned how to clap and wave this month which is so cute. She says lots of words like Mama and Dada but she doesn't really know what she is saying yet I don't think. Being a mom just keeps getting better and better!!

Working on those crawling skills
Her hair keeps getting longer!
Saylor loves the camera, she always does cute little poses like this for me.
Saylor stills loves her paci and can not live with out it when she is going to sleep.
Just in the last few days Saylor started making this face all the time, I don't know where it came from but it's so funny.
Saylor's new favorite thing is the mirror. It is so cute because its like her little friend in there that she loves to play with.
