15 months

Little Miss Oakley is 15 months old! (She is actually almost 16 months by the time I am getting around to posting this but that's ok)  Can I just say that 1 is my absolute favorite age!  It is so cute to watch her learn to talk and try to do big girl things.  Oaks has started saying lots of words lately!  These are the words she can say:
Mama
Dada
Nana (banana)
Sister
Eye
Shoe
Fishy
Jesus
Peek-a-boo
Uh-oh
Buh-bye
Thank you
Please (sounds kind of like, beez!)
Bite (When she wants a bite of our food!)
Nuh-night
Ball
Baby
Wahoo
Hello
Num num (when she wants food)
String cheese
Max
Binky
Doggy
Mine (learned this one from Saylor)
Pancake
Book
Owie
Strawberry
Anna (for her friend Eliana)

Oakley LOVES Saylor so much and I think that is so cute.  The first thing she wants to do when she gets up in the morning is give Saylor a huge hug. She is old enough that her and Saylor can actually really play together.  Oakley can point to her nose, eyes, ears, hair, mouth, tummy and toes!  She can also ruff like a dog and growl like a dragon! She just started folding her arms when we pray.
Oaks is such a climber.  She climbs onto the kitchen table, pushes chairs up to the counter and climbs up on the kitchen counter, climbs on the toilet in the bathroom and onto the bathroom counter.  I can hardly leave her alone for a second!  She really has no fear in life.  A  few weeks ago at the park she climbed up to the top of the playground and jumped off!  That girl can give me some major anxiety sometimes!  After having Saylor we didn't think kids could come any crazier...until we had Oaks!
Oakley gives the best hugs in the whole entire world.  She is still a total mama's girl so I'm the lucky one who gets the most hugs.   She is also very good at giving kisses. Oakley still LOVES to eat! We are trying to teach her to say drink but instead she just starts gulping when she is thirsty! Her favorite things to play with are babies and strollers.  She will wrap up her babies in anything she can find and walk around the house rocking them. She loves to dance. It's my favorite to turn around in the car when we are driving with the radio on and see both my girls dancing in their car seats.
Oakley wants to be a big girl so bad!  She tries to sneak into nursery every week at church and she screams every day when we take Say to preschool and she can't stay.  Oaks is still way too hyper to sit and watch a show or even listen to more than 30 seconds of a book.  We just took her binky away so she only has it at night!  It was easier than we thought to take it away-Ty taught her how to throw it in her crib when she wakes up.  She is already quite professional at throwing tantrums.  If you take something away from her she throws her whole body back and kicks her feet and SCREAMS! Screaming is something she loves to do--whether she is happy or sad.  Oakley loves babies and is getting very good at being soft with them.  We sure love this girl!

Halloween!

Around here we LOVE Halloween!  We celebrated all week long and it was awesome.  For FHE we had a bunch of our friends over to make haunted gingerbread houses.  I wish we would have gotten a group shot but here is Saylor working on our house.
I started teaching Zumba and it is SO much fun! (Getting paid to work out is also pretty sweet!) For Halloween I learned Thriller and taught it to my class.  Ty got a few pics of me while I was practicing.

We threw our big Halloween party with our friends the Warner's this year.  They have the perfect spooky Halloween house!  Everybody came dressed up and all of the costumes were totally awesome!

The Hill's dressed Max up as Hercules and they were Zeus and Hera.  So cute!

Eden the kitty and Saylor as Jasmine
Oaks was a peacock and I was shocked that she actually kept that headband on all night!
I went as Pocahontas and got to wear this huge headdress all night! (Thanks to my Aunt Kristina for letting me raid her Halloween box for all our costumes this year!)
Reed as Clark Kent and little Super Eliana!
We had dinner in a pumpkin and I found all sorts of fun Halloween treats on pinterest to make for the party
 We had witch hats...
 spider oreos, nutter butter ghosts...
and witch fingers!
The Whole Family (including Ty as Vanilla Ice)
 Oakley enjoying the snacks
Eating the yummy witch fingers which were pretzel rods dipped in caramel and white chocolate...so yummy!
 Doing the pinata out back
 The Cake Walk!
After doing some kids games we put on a movie for the kids and the adults got to have some fun!  Here is Ty shaking his booty to get some ping pong balls out of the tissue box tied to his waist.
Here is a better view of Ty's steps that I cut myself!  Lookin good Ty!
This is where the party always gets a little wild...donuts on a string couple style!
Donuts on a string has always been one of my favorite Halloween traditions!

Ty wrapping me up like a mummy!
We won! ( And I was super dizzy!)
Group shot of everyone.  We are so blessed to have such amazing friends!

We had a costume contest and the Hill's and the Miner's tied for best group costume!
The Miner's dressed up as Miners
Chase won best individual costume...I think that makeup really put him over the top!
It was such a fun night!

Max was the cutest little Hercules ever!
The Losers to all the games had to go down in the basement and weren't allowed to come back until they found all the glow in the dark mice that were hidden...
It was completely pitch black down there and Kevin hid so he could scare everyone!
Chantel and Ernie came a little late but they looked awesome as the Flinstones!

The celebrating continued on actual Halloween with the SAA Trunk or Treat!  Oaks was loving life, just wandering around getting candy from everyone.

 Kellen, Saylor and Laynie
(Saylor had been telling me for weeks how Kellen was going to save her on Halloween because he was Spiderman, she ADORES him)
Saylor and Jade
Saylor fell down and got hurt and I just couldn't resist taking a picture because she looked so  cute with her big tears.
After the SAA trunk or treat we went to the church for our Ward trunk or treat.  Oakley was so proud of herself because she hung out with Mommy and handed out candy to all the kids all by herself.
These were some of my favs from the Ward party...
Despicable Me!
 The Obamas! haha
And the night wasn't over!  We went out in our neighborhood and did some real trick or treating.  Saylor actually had just as much fun at home answering the door and giving candy to other trick or treaters.  She would get so excited every time the door bell rang!
I don't even know how many suckers Oaks ate that night...
At home checking out all their candy!

Cinderella Party

Saylor's cousins Jess and Morgin decided to plan a Cinderella party because Cinderella was coming out on DVD.  The movie came out the day after we left Utah so Saylor had to miss their party!  She was super sad, so I told her she could invite some friends over and have a Cinderella party in Missouri.

Decorating pink cupcakes!
The girls all came dressed in princess dresses and we decorated crowns and played pin the crown on Cinderella. (I had stuff leftover from Say's 3rd birthday, ha!)  They got to eat princess fruit snacks and have ring pops while we watched Cinderella!

 Such adorable little princess girls!

Saylor was super mad when I took this picture....but she makes a really cute angry princess!
