Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day was so much fun this year because I got to help my best friend Lisa plan the couple's event for the SAA.  She picked a scrabble theme and everything turned out so cute! We made giant scrabble tile signs that said, PLAY, EAT, DRINK, DANCE and LOVE.
We made a giant scrabble game out of real tiles and made a giant board on the floor
Ruby Tuesdays catered and all the food was delicious!  We made little scrabble tiles to label all the food...

I took pictures of all the couples holding these love scrabble pieces

The party was at Jackson's Stables.  It looked gorgeous!  The tables were all sprinkled with real scrabble tiles.
We made scrabble pieces out of fondant to put on all the cupcakes!
During dinner, every couple had their own mini scrabble board and we all played against each other with questions like....what's a word to describe your love life in med school?

Me and Ty got 3rd place in the scrabble game!!  We won this awesome trophy and movie tickets!
The night ended with a dance party!

It was such a fun night!  A perfect date night to celebrate the day after Valentine's Day.
I also had fun celebrating Valentine's Day with my girls.  I love having girls so I can dress them up cute!

Saylor was so excited to pass out valentines to her friends at school.  While she was at school I heart attacked her room with hearts that said all the reasons I love her.  I could have covered the whole house with reasons why I love that girl.  She loves her hearts and never wants to take them down.  Both Grandmas sent fun Valentines packages that the girls loved with new clothes, candy, books and lots of fun toys. We had a special family Valentine's dinner and drank out of goblets.  When the kids were in bed, me and Ty ate homemade cheesecake and watched a chick flick.  Ty surprised me with some super hilarious and awesome Valentine presents he ordered online and he would kill me if I revealed what they were.  Let's just say they were unforgettable!

Getting through the winter...

Winter can get pretty blah...especially in a tiny town where there is literally no where to go besides Walmart when it's freezing outside. (We don't even have a McDonald's play place!)  I've gone out of town kind of a lot this winter and it's really helped keep some excitement in our lives.  Columbia, Quincy, Des Moines, Columbia again.

We found a fun place in Quincy called Scottie's Fun Spot and spent all day playing...

Eden and Saylor having fun posing...

Some super cute kids!
We've been bowling a few times...

Oakley is turning into quite the dancer these days! She danced back and forth across the bowling alley all night!

My girls are so in love with Baby Max! Saylor tells me quite often that all we need is a little brother (named George!) and a van.  I always tell her, someday. Max will have to do for now.
When we get a few inches of snow in Missouri everything shuts down.  It's pretty funny actually because people here just don't know how to handle snow.  They cancel school pretty much every time it snows! I decided to bundle the girls up and let them play in the snow in the backyard.

Christmas Break

I was really bad about taking pictures over the break but here are some of the random events I did take pictures of...

Christmas Day!
My kids gets SO spoiled by their Grandparents every year! Oaks didn't really know what was going on but she knew it was something and she was excited!
My girls sitting in front of the Christmas tree with lots of presents from Santa!!

Oaks caught on to the whole opening presents thing pretty fast!
Every time we went to see Santa this year Saylor told him she wanted a Baby Waddle Walk (actually called Baby Wanna Walk).  She must have seen it on a commercial or something but  when I saw it at the store it was like $50! For a doll!  We woke up and had Christmas with Ty's family and then went over to my Grandma's to have it with my parents.  When we got to my Grandma's house she hadn't gotten the doll yet.  When my mom asked what she got for Christmas Saylor said, "A Baby Waddle Walk!  But I was looking everywhere for it and I didn't see it!" Saylor was SO confident that Santa had brought it to her but she had somehow overlooked it.  Good thing Saylor has a really nice Grandma that insisted she got the one thing she has been asking for!
The highlight of Christmas was skyping with Zach from Mexico City!  He looked sooo good and it was the cutest because he is starting to get a Mexican accent! We could tell by talking to him what an amazing missionary he is, I'm so proud of him! Just before saying goodbye we sang him a Christmas carol and I of coarse sobbed through the whole thing!  I miss that boy so much!!!

It doesn't feel like Christmas without going to see the lights at Temple Square!
Saylor was so fascinated with the glowing trees she just had to touch it!

It takes my breath away every time I see this temple! I LOVE that I was married here.  It was snowy and cold so we left Oaks home with Grandpa.

The Whole Gang in front of Delynn's favorite red lights! We also had tons of fun shopping at City Creek that night!
Oakley LOVED riding this motorized 4-wheeler around the basement.  This girl is fearless and loved the speed!
Hanging out with her Cousin Kao
Saylor and Morgin getting ready to go sledding in their matching kitty hats!

Happy girls!

Snow angels!
We always have to eat at Brick Oven when we are in Utah.  It is my absolute FAVORITE place! BBQ chicken and pineapple pizza is to die for!
My beautiful babe
Hugging the oven!
Oaks and Aunt Autumn
One of Saylor's favorite things to do in Utah is go to Kangaroo Zoo with her cousins!
This slide was seriously steep and crazy fun!
Every face looks completely terrified haha but they were all smiling and laughing at the bottom and begging to go again and again!
We love getting to watch our nephews play sports, they are both amazing athletes! We had tons of fun at Kao's basketball game!
We did lots of other fun things that sadly didn't get documented! Another huge highlight was going down to St. George (kidless!) for the weekend to hang out with the newlyweds Kirstie and Kyser.  We went out to eat, watched movies, relaxed, and did a session at the St. George temple, which was amazing.  I have to say the very best part was going down to Mesquite...I am usually pretty against gambling but decided that Bingo seemed pretty harmless and just fun.  Me and Ty each paid $3 to play and we got these super awesome markers to mark our bingo cards with.  The game started and I was kind of stressed because you have a bunch of cards to keep track of. Suddenly I noticed I was only like one away from getting a bingo so I started to kind of freak out and get really into it.  And then I got bingo!!!  The first one of the night! I got so excited that I screamed and jumped up and my chair went flying backwards haha! Pretty sure I almost gave some of the old people in there a heart attack! The caller guy at the front was like, so I'm assuming that's a bingo? So I yelled bingo because I forgot.  They walked over and handed me $50!!!  It was the coolest thing ever!  I pretty much couldn't stop laughing or calm down the rest of the night after that.  But it was a great trip and Kirstie is the cutest wife ever and it was really fun to get to know Kyser better.

We miss our families lots but are thankful for the time we were able to spend with them! Thank goodness for face time!
