December Happenings

Before going home in December we did some way fun things.  At the beginning of December we had KCOM Prom!  Ty's mom sent me my sister-in-law Autumn's prom dress and it was SO much fun to wear!  It's one of my favorite events of the year because you get to wear a fancy dress, get free babysitting, dinner and DANCING! (The best part ever!)

These two are super cute

Love this girl!
All the girls looking gorgeous!

Before all our friends went home for Christmas, we wanted to be able to do some of our traditions together in Kirksville.  We called it "Christmas in Kirksville."  Everyone brought one of their favorite family traditions and we did them all!

We started the night making Christmas sugar cookies!

Another tradition we got to do was acting out the nativity
Saylor was the perfect Mary and Max was the perfect Jesus (Poor Oaks misses everything because she gets tired so early!)
Ty was Joseph
I'm sad we didn't get pictures but we also danced around the Christmas tree (Ty's family tradition) and played an awesome white elephant game with sweet gifts from the dollar store.  And what party is complete with out a little Gangham Style?!
We ended the night with a huge sleepover on our living room floor.  We love our friends in Kirksville!

Thanksgiving Break

Thanksgiving Break was glorious.  We didn't go home, we didn't even go out of town and it felt wonderful.  Since Ty has started medical school I crave for the days when we could all just hang out at home as a family and relax.  It's actually a big change for me.  Usually I am wanting to see family at any break we have or drive to a fun city and do tons of fun things and plan out every minute.  It really just felt great to have no plans at all and do whatever we wanted. (And I didn't have to share Ty with anyone!)

We decided to have a Harry Potter marathon and we watched one Harry Potter movie a night.  Gosh those movies are awesome!  I never really got why people were so obsessed but years later I am finally realizing haha.

Here are some pictures of actual Thanksgiving day which we had with our friends the Howards and the McGrews
I feel like I say this every year but we seriously had the most delicious food EVER! And we had sooo much!  The leftovers were amazing.
Saylor LOVES Kellen.  She told me he is her best friend in the whole entire world.  Woah.  She was excited all week long that he was coming over to have Thanksgiving with us.

I truly am so thankful for my own little family.  They mean everything in the world to me.
The Saturday after Thankgiving we went to the cutest Christmas Tree farm to cut down a tree! We usually just use our fake tree because we're poor but Ty really wanted to cut one down this year. He doesn't ask for a lot of things so I agreed and I'm so glad because it was so much fun! It was such a great way to get in the Christmasy mood!

Saylor showing off the acres and acres of trees we could pick from!  Any tree we wanted for $25!
If Tallon or Autumn were with us I'm pretty sure they would have picked this one because it was the weirdest looking one.
Saylor wanted to pose for a picture by every single tree

We finally found the perfect tree!
Saylor helped Ty chop it down

They had the cutest little log cabin
 Our awesome friends the McGrews
We went home and got out the Christmas box to start decorating for Christmas!  Saylor was so excited to find her stocking!

Playing in the Leaves

I have some major catching up to do on the blog and even though these pictures are from back in November...I just had to share.  We had such a fun night raking and jumping in the leaves.  Just one of those moments when I thought, I have the cutest kids and husband in the whole world.  Being a mom can be super hard, but its those happy, perfect moments that make it all worth it.

I was loving all of Saylor's crazy jumps and faces to go with them.  Especially because her tongue was out for most of them.

 Cutest picture ever.
 Say sure loves her Daddy!
