Go Cougars!

On Saturday Saylor got to go to her first BYU game. I wasn't sure how she'd react with the loudness and big crowds of people but I should've known...she loved it! Saylor loves people and she made friends with all the people sitting around us.
In fact, Saylor wasn't bothered by the noise so much that she decided to take a nap about half way through the second quarter. She only woke up when the guy right in front of us stood up and yelled something really loud. Me and Ty decided we couldn't really ask him to be quiet.
Going to a BYU home football game is such an experience-I love how huge the stadium is and how devoted all the fans are wearing their BYU attire. I also couldn't get over what a gorgeous view of the mountains there is from the stadium.
Saylor happily sitting on Daddy's lap
It's so funny but I swear whenever we go to sporting events Saylor is actually into the game, she loves action!

Thanks for giving us your tickets Matt and Sass so we could enjoy one of the last beautiful Saturdays cheering on the Cougars!

Kirst, this one is for you...

I apologize for how obssessed I am with my little girl but when you stay at home all day there are just a lot of super cute moments going on. Mostly this post is for my family who is missing out on all of these moments. Especially recently I feel like Saylor is changing so much and getting so big!! She is all of the sudden growing out of all her clothes! I just love all the cute little faces Saylor is constantly making, here are just a few...

Utah State Fair

Yesterday was pouring rain outside and pretty cold but we bundled up and headed to the Utah State Fair. (I was actually pretty excited for a chance to put Saylor in her so cute coat!)
We had so much fun showing Saylor all the animals at the fair. Having kids makes everything so much more fun!
Saylor petting a cow
The cows were mooing pretty loud and Saylor just kept looking around like what in the world is that sound?
Saylor and her Daddy
She really liked petting the sheep
Matt and Sass are great because they are always up for anything, even a concert in the rain. Peter Breinholt was playing and to our surprise Ryan Shupe was also there!! We were so excited, Ryan Shupe is our fav! Besides the animals and the concert we also got to see a shark show and a bear show that was pretty awesome! I'm not nearly as scared of bears when they aren't in the wild, they were able to do some pretty amazing tricks. I tried to get a good picture of the bears but it didn't really work out.

We didn't end up getting home until pretty late but sweet little Saylor was all smiles, even in the rainy weather! I took this picture of her on the way home, I think she had a good time!

Not ready for Summer to end...

On Saturday Ty wanted to stay home and watch the BYU football game but I told him it was way too nice out to be sitting inside watching TV. Our nice weather isn't going to last for long so I talked him into packing a picnic and hiking up to the Y.
Matt and Sarah came too!
So I've hiked the Y before in my life but I didn't remember it being this hard! It was pretty hot out and there was no shade. The hike isn't very long but it's pretty much straight up!
Ty was a trooper and carried Saylor in the front pack all the way up. (I started out carrying her but that only lasted about 2 minutes before I couldn't do it anymore.)
We finally made it to the top! Here we are sitting on the Y taking in the beautiful view of the valley.

Good thing Saylor is a good baby, we take her everywhere! She usually ends up asleep by the end of our adventures. She really loved the hike though, she loves to be outside!
Trying to pack everything possible into our day, when we got back from hiking we headed to the lake. Saylor loves everything about the lake except for the giant life jacket she has to wear which makes it so she can hardly move.We really aren't ready for summer to be over but it was awesome to have one last day at the lake to play. The water was too choppy to wakeboard but we had a pretty awesome ride on the tube!

Onion Days

After teaching in Payson for two years I grew to really love it there so on Labor Day me, Ty and Saylor made our way down for Payson Onion Days. We had always wanted to go but we are usually out of town over Labor Day weekend. I was hoping to see a lot of my students while I was there but sadly I only ran into a few. (Payson is a little bit bigger than I thought)
Shoni met us down in Payson with her kids to go to the carnival. We rode the ferris wheel with Kao. (I wanted Saylor to come too but they said no babies were allowed)
Saylor had so much fun at the parade. She loved waving at all the princesses and seeing all the fire trucks. We were impressed at how big the parade was!

It was a long day for Saylor, she fell asleep sitting up in my arms on our way back to the car.

Six Months

I can't believe I am already posting about Saylor turning six months, the months fly by! This last month of summer went especially fast. Now that summer is over Ty is back at school and me and Saylor get to stay home and play all day. It is strange to not be at school and I miss teaching but I feel so blessed to get to be a stay at home mom, it's all I've every wanted to be. I am going to try to sub once a week. It'll be good to get out of the house one day a week and make a little money. I've subbed two days so far and Ty's sister Shoni has been so nice to babysit Saylor. I took Saylor to the doctor yesterday and here are her stats:
Weight-14.68 lbs-25th percentile
Length-26 inches-62nd percentile
Head Size-15.8 inches-up to the 3rd percentile!
Sorry I always post so many pictures, I'm kind of out of control about taking pictures of Saylor...

These sunglasses are Saylor's favorite thing to play with.
Saylor loves playing with her toys!

Go Cougars! Saylor looked so cute in her little BYU outfit!
A big accomplishment for Saylor this month is that she learned to sleep unbundled. She was getting too big and too strong to be bundled up too tight. She is still really good about putting herself to sleep if we lay her in her crib when she's tired.
Saylor is professional at sitting up these days! She usually isn't happy unless she is sitting up. I feel like she is so big now that she can sit up in her stroller and sit in the seat part of the cart at the grocery store. She loves to be up and part of the action!Saylor is such a blessing in our lives, I feel like the luckiest ever to get to be her mom!
