Back in June we had a very sad farewell when Matt and Sarah were headed out to Virginia and we were off to Missouri. We thought for sure it'd be at least 6 months before we saw them again at Christmas. Little did we know that our paths would cross again so soon...they got to spend a whole week with us in Missouri!! It was seriously a dream come true. We had SO much fun with them!! Even in our short time apart we both had learned so much about being away from home and it was so great to be able to show them what our life is like here in Missouri.
We of coarse had to have another mini photoshoot of our adorable girls together in their matching dresses and bows...
We also of coarse just PLAYED, PLAYED, PLAYED while they were here! We went out to the lake and rented a little fishing boat so we could cruise around and go swimming.

Saylor was pretty excited to ride on the boat!

Jumping in the lake together...thanks Sass for catching Say
Can you guess what shape Matt and Sarah are making in the air?
(It's supposed to be a heart, nice try guys)
The babies loved the water!
We were able to find a little amish community while they were here and it was a really interesting experience to go see how they live. It felt like we had gone back in time. The people were SO nice and their kids are the most adorable little things ever. We asked them a lot of questions and they were very open about their lifestyle. I learned a lot. You aren't supposed to take pictures of them but I snuck this one of a man driving his horse and buggy down the road.
We took a day trip to Adam-Ondi-Ahman. There was a very special spirit there and it was amazing to think we were at the place where Adam and Eve went after they left the Garden of Eden and where the Savior will come. The caretakers were senior missionaries and their mission president is President Monson!
Saylor got very attached to Sarah while she was here, she would reach for her and call her mommy!
We had a delicious picnic with our $20 sandwiches (I call them that cause their just that good that I would pay $20 for them)
It was so beautiful and green!

The two cutest little girls in the world
So we had kind of an interesting adventure on the way home. We saw a girl on the side of the road and she looked like she might need help so we were all looking in her direction. Then, all of the sudden there was a huge thud under our car and we accidentally ran over the deer she had just hit with her car! Our car was smoking and dripping fluid so we pulled over and ended up getting stuck out on the side of the road for about 2 hours. We couldn't turn on the car to use the air so sitting in the car was miserable but outside the bugs were eating us alive. Most of us decided to just hang out outside (although I did end up with about 100 mosquito bites on my legs) We found some camping chairs in our trunk and we actually had a lot of fun out there on the side of the road. You can have fun anywhere when you're with your best friends!
Matt trying to take cover from the bugs
Luckily we have really nice friends that came out and rescued us by driving out to the middle of nowhere at midnight to pick us up and help tow our car back to Kirksville. Thats just how the people out here are and we are so thankful for that!
We took Matt and Sarah on a little tour of Ty's school...
Poor Essie got smothered by Saylor the whole time
We spent lots of time in the kitchen making some really delicious meals! Matt and Sarah were the best guests ever because they helped cook and clean up every meal. Matt pretty much did all the cooking while he was here and he's an amazing cook!
Essie discovered a love for lettuce. What a cutie! It was so fun to see how much she has changed. She is so smiley and happy and she interacts with you so much more than last time we saw her. She also learned to sit up while she was visiting us! Ester is such a good baby and would hang out in the bumbo while we cooked.
Thanks for visiting us, come back any time! We feel so lucky to have you as friends. Sure do love ya!
(More to come on our trip with them to Nauvoo...)
