Baby Shower and a Surprise Party

Our weekend was busy busy busy but it was also so much fun! Saturday morning I threw Sarah a baby shower and I think it turned out great.

I made these cupcakes with some help from Autumn and Ty-my cake decorating skills are coming in handy! They took forever but they were totally worth it because I think they turned out adorable!

These are the invitations I made. I am turning out to be so crafty now that I'm a stay at home mom and have some time. I really enjoy it too!I can't wait for Sarah to become a mom! Sarah got some super cute stuff! At the end of the shower everyone decorated onesies and they all turned out so cute!! Matt's mom made this super cute polka dotted one
They still don't have a name so she is being called Baby Briggs for now...
Delynn was so great to have the shower at her house even on her birthday! She did so much to help, I never could have done it with out her.
Delynn was so excited to meet Matt's family since she considers Matt and Sarah part of our family. They were nice enough to hang out and play some games after the shower (Delynn LOVES games!) Later that day we had a surprise party for Delynn and Ty was such a genius in figuring everything out so she'd be surprised. We told her we were stopping by one of Ty's friends to get something on our way to dinner when we took her to this totally awesome gymnastic place where everyone was waiting to surprise her! Ty's whole extended family came along with Matt's family and we had such a fun time!! Anyone that knows Ty's mom knows she loves to play so this was the perfect place.
They had this awesome big blow up thing that four people could fit inside and be rolled around in Ty doing crazy tricks off the trampoline into the pit
We also did sumo wrestling, rope climbing, double front-flips into the pit and an awesome obstacle course where we raced each other in teams. I think everyone had a great time.
Even Saylor had fun!In the middle of that crazy day I had just enough time to decorate Delynn a cake. She said a while ago all she wanted for her birthday was a cool decorated cake. It's not quite as cute as the cupcakes but it still turned out ok.Delynn told us it was the best birthday she's ever had and she so deserved it. She is such an amazing mother-in-law and Grandma. We can call her any time of the day and she is more than happy to tend Saylor for us even if it means driving to us to come get her. I have never seen anyone who loves kids so much, her grandkids are her whole life. She does so much for her family it was our turn to do something for her! Happy Birthday Delynn, we love you!!

Saddest Day Ever

On Tuesday while we were baking cookies Saylor crawled on over and decided to stand herself up onto the oven. She stuck both hands onto the hot glass. She didn't cry immediately so at first we didn't even know anything was wrong but when we checked her hands they had already completely blistered up. Most ovens have a special kind of glass on the outside that doesn't get very hot but we have a really really old oven and we had no idea how hot it could get:( We had to wait for an hour before we could get in to see the doctor (it was after hours) and it was the most miserable hour for Saylor, me and Tyler that we could ever imagine. Saylor screamed in pain as we tried to comfort her but there wasn't much we could do except to put her hands in cold water. I thought I had experienced pain before but nothing is worse than watching your baby in such horrible pain and not being able to do anything about it. When we finally got in to see the doctor they had to scrape all the dead skin off of her little hands. Luckily after they put burn cream on them and bandaged them up Saylor wasn't in as much pain and she finally calmed down. The saddest part now is that Saylor can't crawl, eat by herself, pick up toys to play or hardly do anything. My busy, hyper little baby now can hardly move without the use of her hands. Saylor was much happier after we got back from the doctor

Saylor has been handling it so well. We have to take her into the doctor each day to have her bandages changed. The doctor said she has 2nd degree burns but they should heal completely. The next couple of weeks are going to be really hard but we are grateful for all the prayers of our family and friends and that Saylor is going to be alright.

10 months

This past month of Saylor's life really flew by. I think it was because of the holidays and vacation which always goes much too fast. Saylor is growing up so much and becoming such a little girl. She can pull herself up to stand on anything she wants and can walk very well along furniture to get anywhere and into everything! Her balance is getting a lot better so she doesn't fall as much. She can stand up with out holding on to anything for a few seconds at a time and then she'll sit down. Saylor loves to wave at everyone and sometimes will wave both hands at the same time. She is such a happy, busy, social baby.
Saylor also loves pointing at things

Saylor loved all the lights and decorations that came with Christmas time.
Saylor has been sick with a bad cough the last couple of weeks so her sleeping hasn't been quite as good as usual. She also got another tooth on the bottom this month-ouch!

Say loves her new toys that help her walk across the room and make her feel so big!

She learned to open drawers and cupboards and she just loves to pull everything out onto the floor and make a huge mess!

She has the cutest little plumber's crack when she bends over!

Saylor's hair is getting so long! She had her first little ponytail this month.

We took Saylor to Kirstie's dance competition and she was moving her whole body to the music, clapping her hands and was so interested in the dances. I was surprised at how much she watched and how fascinated she seemed to be...maybe I have a little dancer on my hands. Of coarse when I tried to take a video she stopped doing it as much but I caught a little bit on camera.

Birthday and Christmas Break

Oh so much to post about but mostly I just have TONS of pictures from our long, wonderful vacation.
I also never posted about my birthday which was the 15th. I am 25 and I feel so old!! Here is me with all my presents.

Matt and Sarah are the best, they took me out to Brick Oven (my most favorite place!) How grateful we have been to live close to them. Who gets to still hang out with their best friend since 8th grade when they are 25? Plus our husbands like each other too which makes it great!

I asked for cinnamon rolls instead of a cake and they were delicious! Saylor helped me blow out my candles.

We partied lots this year and went to six Christmas parties in a week. It was great to be around so much family. My family was in Utah the week before Christmas which also made it so fun. At my Dad's family party Saylor got to meet Santa for her first time and she wasn't even scared.

Even Ty got to sit on his lap

Saylor with her Great Grandma Parkinson and my cousins Eliana and Daniella

Say and Mommy getting ready to go to another party

All the girls at my mom's family party

Me and my Grandma Leavitt who is 92 years old!

In between our partying we went to Color me Mine with my mom and Kirstie. We had so much fun painting and we love our new bowls!

Me and my sister-in-law Shoni made Christmas tutus for all the little girls to wear on Christmas eve. I was so proud of myself for making it but sadly we didn't get a picture of all of them together:(

Saylor fell asleep really early on Christmas Eve but I just had to wake her up so she wouldn't miss all the fun traditions. She loved dancing around the Christmas tree with everyone.

Ty wrapped all the presents under our tree, he is extra professional.

Saylor was so fun and happy on Christmas morning. She loved all her toys!! I don't know why me and Ty bought her anything at all, she was so spoiled by both her grandma's!
Saylor's cousin Jessi actually got this horse but was way too scared to even come near it. Saylor thought it was awesome and wanted to ride it all day.
Christmas was the best ever! I got a cricut from Ty's mom and I was so way excited. I have already made tons of craft projects and there are so many more to come! The day after Christmas we drove up to Boise. That night we had a get together with tons of people from high school. I saw people I hadn't seen in years so it was really fun to see how old we are getting and all the cool things everyone is doing.
Rach, Me and Sarah

All the guys-Ty is such a good sport to go to these things with me, he is actually getting to be pretty good friends with a lot of my high school friends which I love.

We went to see this amazing house in Boise that had millions of lights, it was amazing!
Another friends get together, we had to see Nate and Jules!
Ty was so excited he got to go paint balling
New Years Eve with Matt and Sass, it's becoming kind of a tradition to spend it with them. Matt's mom makes breakfast at midnight.
Me and Sass-many games were played with Sarah and Matt over the break

I was able to talk Ty into staying an extra day in Boise so we could watch the Fiesta Bowl!! We knew it would be much more exciting to watch in Idaho! Oh such a good game!!
Saylor with her Grandpa Chandler-Saylor loves Boise because she gets tons of attention 24 hours a day. She is the only grandchild so she gets super spoiled. Saylor was so good on this trip, she slept good, played good all day and was so happy. My family said they were going to go through withdrawals with out her and Saylor misses them just as much. She loves her aunt and uncles and Grandma and Grandpa so much!! While in Boise we also put together three 500 piece puzzles (kind of a family tradition), played four games of Settlers, sang tons of Karaoke, saw Sherlock Holmes, went to two Centennial basketball games, ate tons of good food and went to the Y almost every day (Ty was especially faithful going 2 hours a day). It was an awesome Christmas vacation and we didn't want it to end. Ty is back in school now but the good news is he graduates in April!!! Yay!!
