Trip to Portland

We took Saylor on her very first real vacation (somewhere other than Boise) to Portland!
My good friend Jessica who was my room mate at BYU my freshmen year had a younger sister getting married so we thought it was a good excuse to go visit. Tyler and I went out there for Jessica and Ryan's wedding and loved it so we were excited to go back.

Jess & Ryan were soo nice to let us stay with them in their new house. They have done tons of work on it and it looks awesome!

Portland Temple is breath taking, it has to be at least one of my top five favorite temples. I love how the spires just come shooting out in the middle of all the huge trees. The sealing was beautiful as well as the rest of the wedding. My mom did the wedding dinner so we were able to help out with that. Their yard which the reception was in is seriously out of a magazine, the most amazing yard ever. (I wish I would have taken pictures!) The food was also very delicious!

We took Saylor on her first trip to the beach at Rockaway Beach on the Oregon Coast

Saylor was having a great time until we decided to dip her feet in the water, she didn't like that too much...the water was pretty cold. We also went to the Tillamook Factory while we were on the coast. We got ice cream cones and Saylor wanted to eat Tyler's ice cream sooo bad!!

It just so happens that Tyler's cousin Travis who is on a mission was serving about five minutes from where we were staying. Ty had emailed him to see if we could take him out to lunch while we were there but he never replied so Ty looked up his address and we surprised him by showing up at his door! Luckily he was home for lunch and we got to chat for a few minutes. It was really fun to see him especially because he got to meet Saylor for the first time. He looked great and seemed to be doing awesome!
On our way into town we stopped at Multnomah Falls
The day we were leaving Portland my dad called to tell us we just had to go to VooDoo Doughnuts. He saw it on the food network so we decided to check it out. We had to wait in line for almost half an hour just to get inside and it was quite an interesting place with some very unique doughnut flavors. Our favorite was the maple bacon.

It was such a fun trip!
