Summer Part 2

One of the awesome parts about going home is we have our own personal stylist!  Kirstie is in beauty school  so she cut Ty's hair, gave him a straight edge shave, dyed my hair, gave me eyelash extensions and glitter toes.
Saylor making cookies with Grandma Utah
A huge event that happened this summer...my little sister got engaged!!!  Seriously crazy...she is only 19! Oh wait, I was 19 when I got engaged too.  But she is my baby sister and best friend so I am still a little wierded out.  Kirstie is seriously the most gorgeous, sincerely genuine and kind person I know.  Not to mention she is the most fun ever to hang out and laugh with.  Gosh I just love her more than anything.  Keyser is such a lucky guy.  We are excited to get to know him better and have him in our family!
Something I love about Utah is that there is a different celebration going on every single weekend!  I wanted to go to all of them.  This was at the Orem Summerfest parade.  It was actually really freezing that day but I was just so excited to go to a parade!  We even ran into our good friends from our ward in Missouri.
Celebrations usually mean fireworks!!!!  I realized I am totally obsessed with fireworks because I forced everyone to go with me to every firework show happening in the whole valley.  We also discovered that Oakley LOVES fireworks!  She is usually a wiggly little babe but she sat still and stared at the Summerfest fireworks the entire show.

 Beautiful Autumn and Oakley
Playing at the City Creek Mall playplace...seriously love this place.
We were able to go up to my cabin for a few days and we had a lot of fun.
My girls snuggling up with Aunt Autumn
 Tallon and his crazy afro
Kirstie swinging with Oaks...did I mention how she's the best sister ever?  She always knew just when I needed a break and would totally take care of and entertain my girls.
 Delicious s'mores!
We were up at the cabin for Father's Day and Ty got to spend some quality time with his dad fishing!
Kirstie pretending like she caught the fish
Ty's mom is completely awesome and took our girls home with her so we could stay a few days at the cabin  just the two of us!  This is the longest we've ever been away from our kids (2 whole days and nights!) It was a great break for us.
Our yummy hot dog dinner we roasted over the fire

I tagged along with Ty and read while he fished

Almost done...

Summer Part One...Moab

We were on vacation for 9 weeks!  It was so incredibly awesome.  We played so hard all summer long and it started off with a trip to Moab with my family.

Say and her Auntie Kirstie
We went on a beautiful hike up this gorgeous canyon full of red rock.  Hiking and being out in nature makes me SO happy!  Oh and being with my family!
On our way to delicate arch

Delicate Arch is huge and so amazing!
Oakley riding on Kirstie's shoulders at the visitor center
Another really cool arch but I forgot the name.
Right after Moab Ty went to a conference in San Fransisco to present his research he's been working on and I got to go with my girls up to Boise!

Back in the Spring...

Here are some pictures from before summer that I wanted to remember...

All the girls from Kirksville that ran in the half or full marathon in Olathe, Kansas.  It was so much fun!!
On the way home we stopped at the Kansas City Temple Open House with the Anderson's.  It was exciting to get to take our girls to see the inside of the temple.
 Cute matching sisters
Me and Ty celebrating our 7th anniversary at AJ's...that's right, 7!  We have been married for a really long time and it has been awesome!
Saylor posing by the pretty flowers in front of our new house
Kayaking at 1000 hills with our good friends, Jared and Lacey. We sure miss them!
My last run in Kirksville with some of my favorite running buddies...miss them all a ton!
It was just our luck that right before we went to Utah for the summer our best friends Matt and Sarah moved to Boston.  Major bummer! The good part was that they drove and were able to stop and see us in Missouri.  This is the second time they have visited us in Missouri....they are pretty good friends!

Say and Essie playing in the bath tub
 Wearing their matching jammies
Say had an unexpected trip to the hospital that was super sad but she looked sooo darn cute in her hospital gown!
Saying goodbye to all our 2nd year friends before we left was SO sad!  Saylor just adores Andrew.  These two were so cute together and she misses him so much!

Pictures from the summer coming soon!

So it's been awhile...

I haven't posted since April so here are a some of the things we've been doing...(sorry for the lack of pictures)

We moved across town....well it's actually less than a mile from our old house and we LOVE our new place!! 3 bedrooms so Oakley finally has her own room, awesome neighborhood, the inside is all brand new with all new appliances in the kitchen, new countertops and cupboards, brand new hardwood floors, new paint...pretty much everything updated and super nice! We also have a two car garage and a HUGE basement! It is unfinished but is so great for storage, toys, all my craft stuff and not to mention a great place when those tornado warnings come around. We didn't get internet in our new house because we knew we'd be leaving for the summer so that is why it's been so long since a post. We will get it as soon as we get back and I can post some pictures of the awesome new house!

I ran a half marathon!!! Seriously one of the funnest things I have ever done! We had about 20 girls from Kirksville that ran the half or the full and it was so amazing to train with and support each other through it all! I loved it so much that I talked Ty into running one with me in Utah on July 7th (only about a week and a half away!)

Oakley started walking at 9 months and is EVERYWHERE!  It's been pretty crazy having her walk so young!

We came to Utah!!! We've been in Utah for a month now and I am loving every second of it!!  We have been playing nonstop....Moab, 7 peaks, Lagoon, Trafalga, Jump on It, Strawberry Days Rodeo, my cabin, game nights, Orem Summerfest, Fireworks, Parades, BBQ's, runs up the canyon, baseball games, basketball games, Sunday Dinner with the Fam, playing with cousins... I honestly forgot how much there is to do here!  We have spent the last two summers in Missouri so it has been SO great to have a summer in Utah.  I LOVE that in Utah you can hang out outside without constantly be dripping in sweat with all the humidity.  The grass isn't full of ticks and chiggars so you can actually run around bare foot.  It actually cools off at night!  I also have missed the GORGEOUS view of the mountains.  I seriously have cried a few times just staring at them.  I also love that we get to run right next to the temple on our morning runs everyday.  Being by family all the time is amazing of coarse.  Being right by Target, Old Navy, Hobby Lobby and pretty much every other store is not so bad either.  Having babysitters pretty much whenever you want has also been the best thing ever.  So basically, I am really enjoying my summer!  We have another month before we go back to Missouri and the craziness begins and Ty will be gone all the time so I am trying to soak up all the time I have with him.  When we get back to Missouri I will post pictures of all our fun!

Easter and such...

Happy Easter!
Here are my girls in their matching Easter dresses.

We had a super delicious dinner and a fun Easter egg hunt with lots of kids!
Even Oakley got to find an egg

At the rainy SAA Easter egg hunt. Say got her eggs and then said, "Ok, I'm ready to go home!"

We have had some amazing weather out here in Missouri. The springs here are the best. It was even warm enough for Saylor to go swimming in the lake!
Our awesome friends the Oldhams came back for 3rd year testing and stayed at our house for a few days. It was SO much fun hanging out with them! I think I had forgotten how cool they are, we love their family!
So I had another incident cutting Ty's hair...I can't believe he actually lets me touch it anymore. My hair cuts are always so good when I remember to put on the guard...
Here is Jed trying to fix my accident. He actually did a really good job, the bottom was just really short!
These two little besties played and played like they had never been apart.
Saylor snuggled up to George every chance she got! Our friend asked Saylor if she'd been kissing George and when Saylor answered yes, she said," uh-oh!" Saylor quickly responded, "It's not uh-oh, it's just nice!"
Frosting Easter sugar cookies with George and Jack. We got to hang out with the Sandgrens too, we miss all our 3rd year friends!
We've got another little romance with our children starting with Carter and Oakley now! It was so hilarious because Carter wanted to ride Oakley like a horse and she didn't mind one bit!
So many 3rd years came back to visit and it was so fun to see everyone! We went to Colton's with everyone to catch up.
It was so good to see the Applonie's too!
Say holding her cousin Paige

Saylor also had so much fun playing with Jack.
Trying to get a good picture of my girls in their matching dresses after church and being very unsuccessful...

Saylor got to go on her first Daddy Daughter date and she was so excited! They had a dance and Saylor told me all day that she was going to the ball. She wore her Cinderella dress she got from Grandma for her birthday.

This little cutie is 8 months old! She is just as wild as ever and has started to pull up on things and let go and stand there for a second before she loses her balance and falls. This girl is fearless.
Oakley has also decided she no longer wants to eat baby food even though she still doesn't have any teeth. She just wants to do everything like a big girl. Her favorite foods are cut up strawberries and bananas and she wants to eat them all day long!
So that's the update for now. Who knows when I'll get a chance to post again...We are moving this weekend (less than a mile away from our current house) so we won't have internet for a while. My half marathon is only 10 days away and we leave for Utah at the end of next month!
