Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Oh I just love celebrating holidays. It makes it even more fun as Saylor gets older and can really get into it.When we woke up on St. Patrick's Day a leprechaun had turned our breakfast green! We ate green eggs and ham and then of coarse had to read the book!
Kirksville had a cute little parade downtown
A bunch of friends at the parade
Saylor jumping in the bounce house after the parade
She even got to meet a leprechaun!
Later that day we had a little leprechaun hunt. Saylor was SO excited. She couldn't believe our milk had been turned green!
The Leprechaun sent us on a little scavenger hunt leaving us clues and little traces of green candy all throughout the house and backyard.
Saylor found a pot of gold at the end and some leprechaun footprints running away!
We ended the day with some delicious rainbow cupcakes!
Happy St. Patrick's Day!

St. Louis

This past week was Ty's spring break so we took a little trip down to St. Louis with our friends the Miner's. Here we are at the arch!
Saylor loved playing in the Mississippi River
The weather was so seriously beautiful. We packed a little picnic lunch and ate on the grass right under the arch overlooking the Mississippi River, what a view!
Me and my Girls

The kids did awesome in their strollers
We ran into our friend's The Cranney's while we were there, we were staying at the same hotel and didn't even know! We hung out at the free science museum together.

Nice smile Say!

Ty and Saylor flying an airplane
Playing with Andrew, Saylor was so excited to see him!
This was actually one of my favorite parts of the museum. They had a glass walkway that went right over the freeway.
Checking out the cars through the floor
This was my other favorite part...The T-Rex!
It's been 80 degree weather all week in Missouri and we've been soaking it up. We of coarse had to hit up the zoo. It was strange going from being in Chicago a couple weeks ago and it being so freezing to going to St. Louis and it being total summer weather. I definitely prefer wearing shorts and flip flops to bundling up in pants and coats!

Oaks just being cute in her stroller

Saylor and the Orangatang
We love the penguin house! You can get so close up so my goal this time was to try and touch one. I sure did but I also got yelled at by the zoo worker that popped up out of nowhere. Oh well, it was worth it.
In the butterfly room

We also met up with our friends, the Howards at the zoo
Saylor and Kellen walked around the whole zoo holding hands, it was super cute!
We had a great time! We also got to do some shopping and eat at OG, yummy!

7 months

Little Oaklers is 7 months old!
I am LOVING this age right now. I honestly just wish I could freeze time so she wouldn't get any bigger. Since Oakley learned to crawl she is such a happy little girl and she is constantly giving us giggles and smiles that melt our hearts.
About a week after Oakley learned to crawl she started pulling herself up to stand on things. Now she is pulling herself up on everything she possibly can. She is also walking along furniture and totally has no fear. She will let go like she can walk and totally face plant. There's been lots of bumps around here:( When we turn on music Oakley has started bouncing up and down to the beat, it's the cutest thing. We didn't think we could get a more active, wild baby after Saylor but we were wrong. Tyler and I are pretty active people so it definitely fits us to have busy kids. I guess it's a good thing too so she can keep up with that crazy sister of hers.
Oakley is totally a momma's girl and I'm loving that. She babbles a lot and has been saying mama and dada. I know she probably doesn't know what it means but sometimes it really feels like she is saying it to me.
This girl loves to eat! She is eating solids 3 times a day and would pretty much eat anytime we give her food. She will eat puffs all day long. She loves being able to pick up food by herself even if only half of it makes it to her mouth:) The only baby food she hasn't loved are green beans and peas. She likes to eat mashed up bananas with her hands and strawberries and blueberries in her little net.
She still isn't a great sleeper but is getting better. She has to be rocked or given a bottle to fall asleep. She goes to bed at 8pm and usually sleeps until 6 or 7am before she needs a bottle. The only problem is she doesn't want to go to bed after that so it's an early wake up call for us! She is getting more regular about her naps and sleeps every day from about 10-11:30am, takes about a 2 hour nap in the afternoon and sometimes a 30-45 minute power nap around 5-6pm. Oakley loves physical contact. When she is upset in the car or trying to fall asleep she immediately calms down if I put my hand on her chest or even just let her play with my hand. My arm always falls asleep in the car because I'm constantly reaching back to calm her down.
Oakley is such a squirmer and SCREAMS when we have to change her diaper or her clothes. She loves the bath tub and splashes like crazy. She is not content just sitting there either, she crawls up and back and tries to stand herself up on the sides or the faucet. She also loves giving kisses (sucking on our face).
Having two girls is SO much fun. I love how they are starting to play together. MOST of the time Saylor is a very good sister and is very sweet to her. I love when Saylor does things that make Oakley laugh and laugh. These two girls are my whole world.
We love you Oaks, you make our family complete!

Saylor is 3! Yipee!

Saylor had a birthday and we celebrated with a big party!
I made this cake I found on pinterest. I was actually surprised at how much it looked like the one I was copying!
All the yummy snacks!
My friend Bobby Jo is amazing and helped me make these cake pops. It took us like 5 hours but they were so much fun and I think they turned out so stinking cute. Plus, cake balls are like Ty's favorite treat ever. So not only are they the cutest thing ever, they taste good too!
Brynlee and Saylor dressed as princesses.
Yummy chocolate cupcakes!
Fruit Kabobs...I totally felt like my mom when I made these. (My mom is a wedding planner)

The kids making candy necklaces...yet another idea I found on pinterest.

Saylor blowing out her candles
This isn't a great picture but I was trying to show the different shades of pink on the inside of the cake.
We played pin the crown on the princess!
More decorations....
My baby girl is 3 years old! I've never met such a crazy, dramatic, spirited, spunky, more hilarious little girl. We love it and hate it at the same time:) I discover more and more everyday how EXACTLY alike we are. Sometimes it is like we are the same person and it's kind of scary. She definitely pushes me to my limits some days. Saylor is a lot to handle but we wouldn't have it any other way. She steals the hearts of everyone she meets with her adorable personality.

At 3 years old Saylor LOVES anything princess, dancing (especially to party rock anthem), singing (she knows every song on the radio), playing with her sister (and talking to her in a baby voice), swimming, reading stories, taking baths, playing at the park, having picnics (even if it's just eating our lunch on a blanket in the living room), McDonald's (not really sure how this happened, me and Ty both hate it), her Daddy:) (total Daddy's girl), painting her nails, her grandmas, mac & cheese, pb& j, chocolate protein shakes, cheese, bananas, avocado, stickers, play dough, sidewalk chalk, tea parties, bubbles, taking pictures, nursery, saying prayers, reading scriptures as a family before bed and playing with friends. Saylor is turning into such a helpful girl and loves to help me with laundry, dishes and other chores around the house.

It's been one week since Saylor threw her binky in the garbage and it's been pretty rough but we are finally seeing light at the end of the tunnel. That first night she pretty much cried all night long. So sad, but it had to happen sometime. She hasn't really even asked for it back, she just tells us she is crying because she is so sad it is gone:( She went from taking 2-3 hour naps everyday to not napping at all, but we figured that would happen. It's kind of why I put off the no binky thing for so long, I wasn't ready to give up her naps! But it's good, now we get to hang out together all day long!

We sure love this girl!
