BOISE

So I know we go to Boise all the time, but this time we were there for over 3 weeks so I thought I'd just mention some of the highlights of our trip...

Ty's family didn't get to come up for Eagle Fun Days this year so they decided to come up with us for a few days. The only time we go to Boondocks is when they come. I usually don't really love miniature golfing but there was a $15 reward for the winner so I actually tried for the first time in my life. I ended up beating Ty and Delynn!! I also got $5 for coming in 2nd! We had tons of fun riding go-karts and playing laser tag too.
We made Idaho Ice Cream Potatoes and they were sooo good!

We had so much fun in Raft River that we decided to take Ty's family and go again! It was so much fun, we got all seven of us on the tube!
One Sunday afternoon we decided to go up to Banks and make tin foil dinners and cobbler next to the river.

Kirstie is such a big help with Saylor when we visit, she is such a good aunt. Saylor already misses her so much!
Saylor started eating solids and she LOVES green peas!

What trip to Boise is complete without a bike ride down the greenbelt? I made Ty pack our bike trailer just so we could take Saylor on a bike ride.
We rode all the way down to Westside for some delicious shakes and sweet potato fries!!

We spent a day at the lake with Matt and Sarah and even though it was a little bit cold we had a blast!

They put a Jamba Juice right by my parent's house and Saylor is a big fan! She was pretty surprised when she was able to suck some out of the straw!

Bowling at Westy's

We did a ton of driving and Saylor was such a good girl in her car seat!! (Most of the time) At least she doesn't scream bloody murder every time we get in the car anymore.

Saylor loves Boise!

I'm sad I didn't get pictures but we also got to see Rach & Steve, Katie & Dallas and Chrissy while we were in town. It was so good to see everybody!

Trip to Portland

We took Saylor on her very first real vacation (somewhere other than Boise) to Portland!
My good friend Jessica who was my room mate at BYU my freshmen year had a younger sister getting married so we thought it was a good excuse to go visit. Tyler and I went out there for Jessica and Ryan's wedding and loved it so we were excited to go back.

Jess & Ryan were soo nice to let us stay with them in their new house. They have done tons of work on it and it looks awesome!

Saylor with Emily the beautiful bride

Portland Temple is breath taking, it has to be at least one of my top five favorite temples. I love how the spires just come shooting out in the middle of all the huge trees. The sealing was beautiful as well as the rest of the wedding. My mom did the wedding dinner so we were able to help out with that. Their yard which the reception was in is seriously out of a magazine, the most amazing yard ever. (I wish I would have taken pictures!) The food was also very delicious!

We took Saylor on her first trip to the beach at Rockaway Beach on the Oregon Coast

Saylor was having a great time until we decided to dip her feet in the water, she didn't like that too much...the water was pretty cold. We also went to the Tillamook Factory while we were on the coast. We got ice cream cones and Saylor wanted to eat Tyler's ice cream sooo bad!!

It just so happens that Tyler's cousin Travis who is on a mission was serving about five minutes from where we were staying. Ty had emailed him to see if we could take him out to lunch while we were there but he never replied so Ty looked up his address and we surprised him by showing up at his door! Luckily he was home for lunch and we got to chat for a few minutes. It was really fun to see him especially because he got to meet Saylor for the first time. He looked great and seemed to be doing awesome!
On our way into town we stopped at Multnomah Falls
The day we were leaving Portland my dad called to tell us we just had to go to VooDoo Doughnuts. He saw it on the food network so we decided to check it out. We had to wait in line for almost half an hour just to get inside and it was quite an interesting place with some very unique doughnut flavors. Our favorite was the maple bacon.

It was such a fun trip!

Five Months!

My little girl is already 5 months!! It has been a fun month with lots of time with Daddy now that he is done with the MCAT and school hasn't started yet. Saylor is learning lots of new tricks like being able to sit up for eleven whole seconds all by herself! She can also give fives, balance on Daddy's hand standing up for almost a minute and will take steps all the way across the room when you are holding onto her hands. She is not crawling yet with much disappointment from her Dad who tries to give her crawling lessons everyday. (I tried to convince Ty that crawling is only going to make our lives harder) Saylor is such a smiley, happy baby and she makes the cutest little sounds to show her pleasure. She has tried rice cereal for her first time and has sucked on carrots, celery, green pepper, graham cracker and lemons! (My dad loves to watch her sour face) When we eat anything she reaches for it like she wants it so bad. Eating with her on your lap has gotten very difficult, she knocks over full glasses and tries to steal everything off your plate! She's getting pretty good at grabbing things. Saylor loves her toys and puts everything in her mouth. The older she gets the more people are saying she looks just like her Mommy! Here are just some of my favorite pictures from this month.

She is such a cutie and we love her sooo much!

Camping and Twin Falls

We finally took Saylor on her first camping trip! Me, Ty and Saylor along with Matt and Sarah decided to meet Juliana and Nate in Raft River, Idaho for a fun camping trip. We ended up going the wrong way and taking the longest way possible to Raft River but we finally made it and it was well worth the drive to have a mini friends reunion.

The place we went had two huge slip and slides that were so much fun! At one point I think we had all of us on one tube. We also had contests to see how far we could go down the slide, I'm pretty sure Matt and Ty were the winners.
Even Saylor got to go on the slip and slide! After that she took a nap in the shade while the rest of us played all day-what a good baby!

After our eventful camping trip we headed to Twin Falls to stay at Juliana and Nate's brand new house! After going to church Sunday morning we ate a delicious breakfast.

What a fun weekend, it is so great to have such good friends!
