Boating!

I finally got to go boating this summer!! Boating has to be in the top 3 of my most favorite things to do ever! I could spend everyday at the lake. Last night we went with Ty's uncle Trent on his new boat to Utah Lake. I got to wakeboard and tube, my most favorite things ever. I couldn't believe how warm the water was, it was the best!

Before we left all the boys decided to play king of bunker hill on the tube. They had four boys on one tube and the last one on won $20. Can you guess who won? The tube eventually flipped throwing everyone off but Ty was still hanging on with one hand! He was very proud of himself!

Ladies Day

Since most of the girls in Ty's family have the summer off (lots of us are teachers) we decided to have ladies day every other week where we get together and do something fun and kind of girly. Today we went up to Ty's aunt Jen's to make cards. She is amazing at card making and scrapbooking! These are some of the way cute cards I made! I was so proud of myself!

Sun Valley

Ty and I have had quite a fun-filled summer so far. It seems every second we are out doing something fun and that is the way I like it! This past weekend my parents rented a cabin up in Sun Valley for the week. We left Thursday after Ty got out of school for a fun weekend in Idaho!

Sun Valley is full of bike trails. We decided to ride our bikes from our cabin to Ketchum which was about 8 miles. I love riding my bike! Especially in beautiful places like Sun Valley!

My Uncle Sam and Aunt Kristina also came up for the weekend and brought their four kids. One night all the adults went out and left me and Kirstie in charge of the kids. We were able to give them all a bath and get them into bed which was quite the job. Kristina told me I passed the test and I could be a mother now. I'm glad I don't have to start with four!

There was a little creek running behind our cabin that we decided to float down. I was not expecting it to be so stinking cold! My legs were stinging from the ice cold water and I screamed all the way down. We even had to go underneath the road!

Sunday on our way home Ty wanted to drive through Hazelton, one of the areas he served in on his mission.

Strawberry Days

Last week we went to Strawberry Days with our friends Ryan & Jess and her sister Emily. Jess was my room mate from freshmen year and it was so good to see her and spend some time catching up! Ty and I have been to a lot of "days" lately, Cherry Days, Eagle Fun Days, Strawberry Days. That is part of why I love summer because you can go to all the little festivals!

The best part of Strawberry Days is the strawberries and cream of coarse! They were delicious!

Emily and I decided to ride the scrambler. It was pretty intense! Later on Ty made Tallon ride the zipper with me (Ty's not too big on rides)

Manti Pageant

We went down to Manti with Ty's cousin Andi and her new husband Trevor!

We posed by some scary Lamanites!

Tuesday night for the first time ever I got to go to the Manti Pageant! I've always wanted to go but we are always in Boise during the summer so we usually miss it. I can't believe there is such a beautiful temple in such a tiny town in the middle of no where. It was fun to walk around the little town of Manti. It was so awesome to sit under the stars and watch the pageant with the temple as a back drop. The spirit was really strong and it strengthened my testimony of the Book of Mormon and Joseph Smith. It was really cool to watch Book of Mormon scenes acted out. I loved the scene when Jesus came to visit the America's after he had been resurrected. They had a huge storm with earthquakes and lightening and there was even fire coming out of all the rocks! It was awesome! My very favorite was when they had the little children surround Jesus. It was so cute to see all the kids running toward him, I think it will be just like that. It gave me chills when they talked about how Mormon had dedicated the hill where the temple sits so many years ago, the very hill I was looking at! It was definitely worth the drive down to Manti even though we did get pulled over for speeding (don't worry he let us off with a warning since we said we were on our way to the pageant!)

Jessi's Baby Blessing

Tyler's sister Shoni's baby was blessed on Sunday. Jessi looked so adorable in her little white dress! I even got to hold her for most of sacrament meeting until she started crying and Shoni had to take her. I can't wait to have one of my own!

Cherry Days

Kirstie and I trying on some furry hats!
Getting ready to eat some funnel cake!

Ty and Tallon were stunting me to get the really high cherries and when I reached up for the branch I accidentally grabbed a cherry and the juice went all over Tallon's face. Oops, sorry!

Oh man, we did so much fun stuff while we were in Boise I forgot about cherry days! This was me and Ty's 4th time going to Cherry Days, it's a tradition! We had the usual cherry pit spitting contest where Ty won of coarse and the cherry stem tying with your tongue contest (my mom won that one!) We had so much fun!

Eagle Fun Days!

Ty came to pick me up from Boise and he brought his family for Eagle Fun Days!! Ty loves to go since he served in Eagle for the last 6 months of his mission and plus he just loves Eagle Fun Days and Idaho! We went to the rodeo on Thursday night (since it was free night!) We were so excited because we got to see our good friends Ben and Moni and their kids. On Friday we went down to watch the bike races and we got to hang out with our friends Chrissy and Ian. We stopped by the carnival but sadly it was closing and they weren't selling anymore tickets. Luckily Kirstie and I talked one of the carneys into letting us on the big ship ride. It was pretty fun! On Saturday we went to the Wet and Wild Parade. It's pretty much a water fight with the whole city. Everyone is soaking by the end of it. We had a ton of fun!

My Wonderful Week in Boise!

I was so lucky to be able to ride back with my parents when they came down for Heather's wedding and spend the week with my family! Oh it was so much fun! Me and Kirst hung out everyday rollerblading to Alb's and riding our bikes down the greenbelt. I decided I should just move to Boise for the summer but Ty didn't like that idea very much. He was jealous because I was having too much fun and not missing him enough.

Heather and Eric's Wedding

One of my most favorite cousins ever got married yesterday in the Salt Lake Temple. I love to go to sealings in Salt Lake because it reminds me of when Ty and I got married there 3 years ago. It seems like I go to temple square a lot but it's a special treat when I get to go inside the temple! It's always such a blessing to be in the temple with family. I'm excited to get to know Eric better. Heather looked gorgeous. We had so much fun at the reception especially because it's family tradition to have a huge dance at the end. It was a PARTY! (Ty also took over 500 pictures because he was having so much fun with his brother's camera he borrowed)

Last Day of School

I can't believe I did it--I got through my first year of teaching!! In so many ways it was a relief to be done but I am also very very sad to say goodbye to my first students ever. I told them so many times that since they are my first class I will remember them forever and always love them the most. I have learned more this year as a teacher than I ever could have imagined! When I look back at all the work I did and all the hours I put in this year I can hardly believe I was able to do it. There were nights I stayed at school until 10pm trying to prepare for the next day or an observation or working on my teacher work sample. There were days I came home crying to Tyler because it was so hard but there were so many other days I came home and told Ty I was the luckiest person ever to get to hang out with the coolest kids in the world everyday. My students really were my best friends. I told them everything. I would tell them stories about me and my life all the time. At the end of the year reflecting on everything we had learned together I really was so proud of all the things I had taught them! It is cool to think, wow, look at all these things they know and I taught it to them! Our class had so much fun together. My students always called me crazy because I acted completely myself around them and yes I am kind of a crazy one. Some days I would laugh hysterically at things the kids did or said and I always just felt so happy at school. I was always bouncing around excited. I really did have the coolest students ever, I think if they were my age we really would all be best friends and hang out together all the time. This year really was one of the best experiences of my life. After this year I feel like I can do anything! Being a teacher is hard and you have to know how to do a million things at once. I felt like I was the mom of 27 kids who came to me with every problem and struggle they were having. I feel like all my children have just been taken away from me! At least I am staying at my school next year so hopefully they will visit me and still play with me at recess. I made it through my last day with only crying twice. I will always treasure this year, I think in so many ways it has prepared me to be a mom someday. I am just so greatful to have had this experience and that Heavenly Father trusted me to teach and love so many of his children!
